“Here's
looking at you, kid.”
Step into
the Golden Age of Hollywood with this stunning Humphrey Bogart Type I original
photograph from Casablanca
(1942). In this iconic oversized image, measuring approximately 11 by 14
inches, Bogart stands stoically as Rick Blaine, lighting a cigarette beneath
the brim of his fedora, trench coat draped around him—the very embodiment of
cool, conflicted heroism. Captured by renowned photographer Jacks Woods and
released by Warner Bros. as part of the studio’s early promotional campaign,
the photograph powerfully conveys Bogart’s presence in the film’s unforgettable
final scene.
Casablanca won three Academy
Awards, including Best Picture, Best Director (Michael Curtiz), and Best
Adapted Screenplay, and remains one of the most celebrated films in cinema
history. The American Film Institute ranks Humphrey Bogart as the number one
male screen legend of all time, with Casablanca holding the
number two spot on its list of greatest American films.
This original
photograph shows only minor edge and corner wear, noted for accuracy, while the
image itself remains in flawless condition. It has been authenticated by PSA as
a Type I Original Photo – a first generation photograph, developed from the
original negative, during the period (within approximately two years of when
the picture was taken). Because they are deloped from the original negative, Type
1 images are generally crystal
clear. They are extremely rare - with just a handful of each image known to
exist, sometimes just one of a kind unique!
Don’t miss
your chance to own a rare and timeless tribute to Humphrey Bogart and the enduring
legacy of classic Hollywood!
