The Chosen One!
Offered here is an extraordinary high school-era basketball signed by LeBron James and 17 of his St. Vincent–St. Mary teammates, dating to the legendary 2002–2003 season. The Rawlings white-panel basketball features 18 signatures in black ink, including LeBron's early-style autograph, capturing the historic Fighting Irish team that would claim both the Ohio State Championship and the consensus National Championship during his final season before entering the NBA.

LeBron's four years at St. Vincent–St. Mary produced one of the most decorated high school careers in basketball history. As a freshman, he led the Fighting Irish to a perfect 27–0 season and the first of three Ohio State Championships. As a sophomore, he captured a second consecutive state title while becoming the first sophomore ever named Ohio Mr. Basketball and selected to USA Today's All-USA First Team. By his junior year, LeBron was the unquestioned #1 high school player in the country, becoming the first junior ever named Gatorade National Player of the Year while also earning USA Today and Parade National Player of the Year honors. In February 2002, Sports Illustrated famously featured the 17-year-old phenom on its cover, introducing him to the world as "The Chosen One."

His senior season in 2002–2003 would serve as the crowning achievement of an already unprecedented high school career. With games televised nationally and moved into larger arenas to accommodate the thousands of fans eager to witness "The Kid from Akron," LeBron led St. Vincent–St. Mary to its third Ohio State Championship in four years and a consensus National Championship. He earned Ohio Mr. Basketball for a third consecutive year, repeated as Gatorade, USA Today, and Parade National Player of the Year, and received McDonald's All-American honors. The Fighting Irish finished LeBron's four-year varsity career with an astonishing 101–6 record, cementing their place among the most celebrated high school basketball programs in American sports history.

Early, high school-era LeBron James autographs are particularly desirable, and a basketball signed alongside his championship teammates offers a remarkable connection to the final chapter of his amateur career. Despite the almost unimaginable expectations placed upon him as a teenager — already drawing comparisons to Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, and Kobe Bryant — no one could have known just how thoroughly he would fulfill that promise. Selected first overall in the 2003 NBA Draft, LeBron would go on to capture four NBA Championships, four MVP Awards, four Finals MVP Awards, and become the NBA's All-Time Leading Scorer, among countless other accomplishments.

More than two decades later, this 18-signature basketball stands as a tangible reminder of the team and the remarkable high school career that preceded one of the greatest professional careers in sports history. Before the championships, the records, and the global superstardom, there was St. Vincent–St. Mary — and a teenager from Akron known simply as "The Chosen One."
