An exceptional original illustration by legendary fashion designer Hubert de Givenchy. Rendered in ink on artist’s paper, depicting his lifelong muse Audrey Hepburn in a striking red gown with a trimmed wrap skirt, bow at the waist, and an embellished straight neckline. Signed boldly by Givenchy along the right margin, the artwork measures appx 13" x 20" and remains in remarkable condition with little to no wear.
This elegant gown was worn by Hepburn Givenchy’s 1983 Tokyo couture fashion show, which celebrated his 30th anniversary in haute couture—an event that symbolized the enduring creative bond between designer and muse. Included are images of Givenchy together with Hepburn wearing the iconic gown.
The unique artwork comes from the distinguished collection of Franca Price, a central figure in preserving Hepburn’s legacy. Price served on the board of The Audrey Hepburn Foundation and as director of the Audrey Hepburn Pavilion in Switzerland, where she worked to honor the actress’s life and contributions.
Audrey Hepburn remains an icon of film and fashion—an Academy Award, Golden Globe, and Tony Award-winning actress whose performances in Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Roman Holiday, and My Fair Lady left an indelible cultural mark. Her lifelong collaboration with Givenchy not only defined her elegant image but also elevated fashion and cinema to new artistic heights.
This sketch stands as a rare and intimate artifact of that creative partnership, blending fine art, couture, and Hollywood history—an heirloom-worthy piece for the most discerning collectors.
