 An Impressive 1959 Yankees Team Baseball with a Vintage Mantle Signature

Yankee team ball collectors know just how challenging it is to find a flawless 1959 team baseball. In fact, this particular year’s ball may be one of the toughest to locate (with the 1952 ball being another elusive gem). It's a fact that finding a problem-free Yankee team ball from the 1950s and 1960s is rare, as most are filled with clubhouse-style signatures from various players. This exceptional example, however, is completely free of any such markings. Over the years, these balls have been acquired and tucked away in private collections, and for some reason, they rarely make their way back to the market.  

This eye-appealing 1959 Yankees team ball features 29 signatures, including 6 Hall of Famers, and boasts an exceptional vintage example of Mickey Mantle’s autograph. Also included is the elusive Casey Stengel signature, which is often either a clubhouse version or completely absent from team balls of this era. Along with Mantle, the ball showcases the signatures of other Yankees legends such as Whitey Ford, Yogi Berra, Enos Slaughter, and coach Bill Dickey.

In addition to these Hall of Famers, the ball is signed by key stars of the time, including Kubek, Richardson, Larsen, Ralph Terry, Bobby Shantz, Jerry Coleman, Norm Siebern, and Andy Carey. Altogether, the signatures, all nicely executed in ballpoint ink, making it an outstanding piece for any serious collector.
