We are proud to offer an exceptional original pencil drawing of Mickey Mantle by American artist Glen Fortune Banse (1948–2018), signed and inscribed by Mantle in bold blue ink. The original drawing is a collage of The Mick flashing his iconic style and captured in his batting stance, and it remains in excellent condition with beautiful detail by the highly skilled artist, who has also signed the drawing.

While we’ve handled plenty of Mantle-signed lithographs and other artistic prints over the years, this is the first original art piece we’ve ever had in our collection — the perfect crossover piece for both art and autograph collectors.

Glen Fortune Banse is known for his finely rendered portraits and sports subjects, and this original piece captures one of baseball’s all-time legends in a unique, hand-drawn format. Mantle’s autograph, complete with his classic “No. 7” inscription, certainly sets this piece apart from the typical items seen in the marketplace.
