Offered here is classic dual-signed baseball from one of the game’s most coveted pairs – Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris! Both Yankee legends have flawlessly signed their names in bold ink - Mantle in black on the sweet-spot, Maris in blue on the side panel - on an Official American League Baseball (MacPhail).
Anything dual-signed by the M&M Boys is highly desirable and considerably rare. Sadly, Maris passed away in 1985 at just 51 years old, well before the autograph shows and card signings of the late 1980s and 1990s became popular. The amount of authentic examples to exist is miniscule compared to his contemporaries.
Of course, next to Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig, this is the most coveted duo in the history of Major League Baseball. The 1961 season is one of baseball’s most iconic and important as the M&M Boys battled to break Babe Ruth’s single season home run record of 60 home runs. At the end of the season, they combined for a MLB record of 115 home runs, with Maris hitting 61 total HRs on his way to his second consecutive MVP and another Yankees World Series Title!
