Hilton Smith Signed & Inscribed Kansas City Monarchs Index Card Autograph. PSA

Hilton Smith!
Presented is a vintage index card signed by Negro Leagues legend and Baseball Hall of Famer Hilton Smith. Smith signed boldly in blue ink, adding the inscription “Kansas City Monarchs” beneath his name — a particularly desirable association with the club for which he established himself as one of the great pitchers of his era.

Smith starred for the Kansas City Monarchs from 1937 through 1948, pitching alongside Satchel Paige and helping anchor one of the most celebrated teams in Negro Leagues history. Renowned for his exceptional control and devastating curveball, Smith was often overshadowed by Paige’s larger-than-life presence, but his ability was held in extraordinary regard by his contemporaries. He helped lead Kansas City to multiple pennants and was a key member of the Monarchs’ 1942 Negro World Series championship team.

Smith was elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 2001, decades after his death in 1983. As a result, his autograph is considerably scarcer than those of many fellow Hall of Famers, with examples directly referencing the Kansas City Monarchs especially desirable.

The signed index card has been authenticated and encapsulated by PSA/DNA.
