Always a sought-after item that frequently appears on the want lists we receive. We haven’t had the opportunity to own a really nice example in a while, so we’re excited to offer this one. It’s a beauty and looks fantastic in the custom display we had made up for it. Jackie Robinson has signed in vibrant red ink, which is the first time we've seen this color used by him. The signature is quite large, measuring 3 1/2 inches in length, making it perfect the display.

We selected one of the classic Jackie Robinson color photos to perfectly complement the signature and placed both in a handsome frame with archival double matting. To ensure long-term protection, we used ultraviolet-protected plexiglass. The result is a stunning, one-of-a-kind display that looks absolutely fabulous.

Jackie Robinson (b.1919) autographs are not easily found. He passed away at the young age of 53 in 1972, long before autograph collecting became the national craze it is today. There were no card shows or private signings back then—essentially, if you had the chance to meet him, he would kindly oblige and sign his name. Consequently, the supply of his signatures was finite, but as his popularity grew over the following decades, the demand far outpaced that supply. The result, of course, is clear—his signature is no longer easy to obtain, and that trend will undoubtedly continue through future generations. Jackie Robinson’s legacy transcends generations worldwide.

We continue to actively seek out only the finest examples and always strive to keep at least one or two in our inventory, though finding them is no easy task. We are proud to offer this beautiful display, which would look perfect hanging in your office or den. As the years go by, these will only become more valuable. A solid investment, indeed.
