Incredibly Scarce Original 1926 Babe Ruth Broadside: One of Only Two Known –with original photo.

Babe Ruth's appearance at Lake Oscawana in Putnam County, New York, is a piece of local baseball lore. In 1926, Babe Ruth visited the area for a hitting exhibition, where, as this stunning original broadside poster states, he "will do some swatting." At his August 21st, 1926 appearance, a young, aspiring baseball player had the chance to "win a Babe Ruth Souvenir," which included, "a Big League Baseball." In addition, "one of his own home run bats, will autographed and raffled by the Babe at the ballfield at Lake Oscawanna."

These exhibitions were often part of Ruth’s charitable efforts or to promote the game of baseball in communities that might not otherwise have the opportunity to see major league players. The Lake Oscawanna, YMCA Camp event is particularly notable because it allowed local fans to see one of the biggest stars of the era up close.

Babe Ruth broadsides from his playing days are virtually unheard of—this is the first we’ve ever seen, which is why we “jumped” on it. Beyond its rarity, the condition of this masterpiece is exceptional. It remains free of spotting and the typical foxing that often comes with age. The original red printing remains bold and vivid, showing no signs of fading, while the cream-colored background is pristine. There are no rips or tears, and the iconic image of the "King of Swat" in his powerful swinging pose is simply magnificent. Some professional archival restoration has been carefully performed to enhance the original quality of the broadside poster, ensuring its integrity is preserved for future generations. This careful restoration not only maintains its historical value but also increases its overall worth. This piece makes a bold statement!

This outstanding and impressive early piece of Babe Ruth memorabilia comes with a PSA/DNA encapsulated original Type 1 photograph of the Babe at Yankee Stadium later in the year, presenting the "Babe Ruth Cup" trophy to the winner of the "Best Boy" contest, as well as the placard sign. The trophy, bearing the name "Lake Oscawana," adds further significance to this remarkable set, linking it directly to Ruth's historic visit and legacy.

Needless to say, this is an incredibly rare and historically significant find—one that captures a pivotal moment in Babe Ruth’s legendary career. With its vintage issuance, connection to Ruth's legacy, and the unique memorabilia it includes, this is a once-in-a-lifetime offering. Once again, Ruth broadsides simply are not found, even in the most advanced and historic collections. This is a museum piece, where it truly belongs. Items of this caliber, especially with the added provenance of the "Lake Oscawana" trophy and the original Type 1 photograph, seldom appear on the market.

If you're a student of the game—but especially of baseball memorabilia collecting—this is a must-own: something no one else in the hobby possesses, and in near-flawless condition! Once sold, this treasure will likely be lost to the hobby for some time, making this an extraordinary opportunity for any serious collector. Own a piece of history that truly embodies the greatness of the King of Swat.

Measuring a full 13" x 18" inches, this incredible piece is professionally framed under ultraviolet-protected plexiglass, ensuring its preservation while allowing for optimal viewing.
